US Army xTech Edge Strike Ground Exercise, Unmanned Battlefield Technology, and the Strategic Risks of Retrieving Iran’s Enriched Uranium

Milrem Robotics and the Themis Unmanned Ground Vehicle

Another major platform demonstrated during the exercise was the Themis unmanned ground vehicle, developed by Milrem Robotics, an Estonian defense technology company known for its work in autonomous military systems.

The Themis platform has already attracted significant international attention and has been tested or adopted by several NATO countries.

The vehicle functions as a multi-purpose robotic platform, capable of performing a wide range of battlefield tasks, including:

  • Logistics support

  • Surveillance and reconnaissance

  • Remote weapons integration

  • Casualty evacuation

  • Mine detection

Because of its modular design, the system can be configured for different missions depending on operational requirements.

Military experts view platforms like Themis as an important step toward semi-autonomous battlefield support systems that can accompany infantry units without exposing additional soldiers to danger.
