Ruhollah Razavi: The Kashmiri-Born Media Host Behind Time and the British Embassy Controversy

Why Was He Named Ruhollah?

One of the frequently discussed aspects of Razavi’s biography is the origin of his name.

According to his own accounts, his father named him Ruhollah because of his admiration for Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Later, supporters and political activists began calling him:

“Soldier Ruhollah”

The nickname reflected his identification with revolutionary ideals and his public image as a supporter of Iran’s political system.
