The 2016 film The Midday Event marked a significant turning point in Ezzati’s career.
He played Sadegh, a member of the security forces involved in confronting activities connected with the People’s Mojahedin Organization during a turbulent period in Iranian history.
The role was markedly different from the comedy characters that had made Ezzati famous.
Instead of relying primarily on exaggerated behavior and humor, he had to create a more restrained and serious character. The film required an ensemble performance in which each actor contributed to a tense political and security-oriented atmosphere.
Ezzati appeared alongside performers such as Hadi Hejazifar, Ahmad Mehranfar, Mehrdad Sedighian and Mehdi Pakdel.
His involvement in The Midday Event helped demonstrate that his abilities extended far beyond comedy.
