Javad Ezzati: From Baba Ati in Bitter Coffee to Vahshi, Zakhm Kari and Bloody Crocodile
Javad Ezzati is one of the most recognizable and versatile Iranian actors of his generation, a performer whose career has developed from theater and television comedy to some of the most demanding dramatic, crime and social roles in contemporary Iranian cinema and home entertainment. For many viewers, Ezzati first became familiar through his memorable comic characters, particularly Baba Ati in Bitter Coffee, but his later performances demonstrated a much broader acting range.
From television comedies such as Bitter Coffee, I Am a Tenant, Bagh Mozaffar and Big Troubles to acclaimed films including The Midday Event, Oxidan, Lotari, Thousand Legs, Butterfly Swimming and Atabai, Javad Ezzati has gradually established himself as an actor capable of moving between comedy and serious drama without losing his distinctive screen presence.
His transformation became even more visible through productions such as Zahm Kari, in which he played the ambitious Malik Maliki, and Vahshi, where he portrayed Davoud Ashraf, a working-class man whose life is transformed by imprisonment, violence and a series of difficult circumstances.
