Javad Ezzati: From Baba Ati in Bitter Coffee to Vahshi, Zakhm Kari and Bloody Crocodile
Why Baba Ati Became a Memorable Character
The popularity of Baba Ati was not based simply on the character’s dialogue. Ezzati’s performance relied heavily on physical comedy and vocal characterization.
His facial expressions, body movements and delivery gave the character a distinctive identity. He could turn relatively simple scenes into memorable comic moments.
This skill would later become one of the foundations of his broader acting career. An actor capable of creating a convincing exaggerated character must understand rhythm, reactions and audience expectations. Ezzati eventually transferred many of these abilities into dramatic performances, where the same control over movement and expression could be used in a much more restrained way.
