Jahangir Almasi: From Hezardastan and After the Rain to His Recent Financial Struggles

Before achieving major recognition in cinema, Jahangir Almasi was also active in television and cultural journalism.

He collaborated with the magazine Nooshin in 1979 and 1980 and later became involved with television production. In 1982, he worked with the directing team of the Hamshahri series and was also involved in writing.

These experiences meant that Almasi was not simply an actor waiting for film opportunities. He was already participating in several areas of cultural production.

His later career would continue this pattern, with work involving acting, writing, directing, teaching, criticism and cultural activities.
