Hossein Kheirandish: Traditional Medicine Controversies, Cupping Research Institute, University Dispute and Arrest

4. The Controversial Claim About Reviving Accident Victims

Kheirandish’s medical statements continued to attract attention after the most intense period of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In March 2025, another claim associated with him became the subject of a Factnameh investigation.

The claim suggested that a person who had died following certain types of accidents could potentially be revived through an incision in a vein located between two fingers of the left hand.

The statement circulated online and attracted attention because it suggested an unconventional method of reviving people following severe accidents.

Factnameh examined the claim on March 17, 2025, and rejected it.

There is no credible scientific basis for the proposition that making an incision between two fingers can reverse death or restore vital functions after a fatal accident.

Emergency medicine relies on established procedures designed to address life-threatening conditions.

Depending on the circumstances, these may include cardiopulmonary resuscitation, defibrillation, airway management, hemorrhage control, and advanced emergency medical treatment.

An unverified traditional procedure should never replace emergency medical services.

The controversy added another example to the list of Kheirandish’s statements examined by fact-checking organizations.
