The Female German Football Player Sara Doorsoun: “A lot of girls have to fight”
Sara Doorsoun from Eintracht Frankfurt, defender in the German EM squad, is the daughter of an Iranian and a Turkish mother and can report different things: “Fortunately, it was never an issue for me that I wasn’t allowed to play. I’m also very grateful for that, because I know that there are still many girls who have to fight for it.” The 30-year-old Doorsoun began her career in the youth team of SV Wesseling not far from her home town of Cologne. Today she can already look back on more than 200 Bundesliga games, including for Eintracht Frankfurt, VfL Wolfsburg and SGS Essen. She was German champion twice with the Wolfsburg team, won the DFB Cup three times and was in the 2020 Champions League final (lost to Olympique Lyon).
