The Female German Football Player Sara Doorsoun: “A lot of girls have to fight”

Sara Doorsoun didn’t have to think long about her decision to join the German national team. “I’m 50 percent Turkish and 50 percent Iranian, but 100 percent German,” she once said. Nevertheless, the countries of origin of her parents always play a role, for example when the number of her social media fans in Iran increases or when she talks about Turkey as a “family place”, whose language she speaks and where she has spent numerous holidays. Before an international match against Turkey, she summed it up like this: “Turkey is a beautiful country, I have very fond memories of it. And I love Turkish cuisine. It’s my mom’s home country. Of course I’m looking forward to the game.”
