Renewing a passport in Lebanon incurs a cost of 1,200,000 Lebanese pounds (around $795) for local citizens. Interestingly, expatriates renewing their passports at the New York or Los Angeles Consulate General of Lebanon are subject to a reduced fee of $600. Lebanon is one of the few countries that charges its local citizens more than expatriates for passport renewals. It’s advisable to check with the Lebanese General Directorate of General Security or the nearest Lebanese consulate for the latest passport renewal fees.
