The Arrest of Hiwa Seyfizadeh: A Female Voice Silenced by Rumors

A Controversial Arrest: Speaking Out Against Injustice

In a shocking incident, Hiwa Seyfizadeh was arrested during a performance at a venue where she had received the necessary permits to perform. Her arrest occurred amidst unfounded rumors circulating on social media, specifically Twitter, suggesting that her concert was the first opportunity for men to attend a female singer’s performance. This incident drew widespread attention to the challenges faced by female artists in Iran and sparked discussions about the social constraints governing women’s participation in the arts. Despite the unjust circumstances of her arrest, Hiwa continued to advocate for women’s rights and artistic expression.

Performing Arts: Collaborations and Concerts

In 2021 and 2022, Hiwa joined the Rastak group, led by the eminent Siamak Sepehri. This collaboration allowed her to perform on international stages, including venues in Sulaymaniyah and Erbil, Iraq, further expanding her artistic reach. In addition to her work with Rastak, Hiwa has been involved in various notable concerts throughout her career.

In 2015, she made her mark at Vahdat Hall, performing with the “Avaye-Mehrabani” music group. The following year, she was part of another concert at Vahdat Hall, collaborating with the “Moje No” music group under the direction of composer Ali Ghamsari and conductor Pouya Sarabi. In 2021, she participated in the vibrant Tirgan Festival in Canada, showcasing her Iranian heritage on an international platform.

Theatrical Ventures and Concert-Play Performances

Hiwa’s artistic expression extends beyond music into the realm of theater. In 2022, she took the stage as a concert-play actor in “Cafe Asheghi (Love Cafe),” a production written and directed by Seyed Jalaledin Dorri and composed by Peyman Khazeni. This role allowed her to blend her singing talents with acting, demonstrating her versatility as a performer.

The following year, she participated in the concert-show “Nakoja-Abaad,” written by Mahmoud Tavasoliyan and directed by Sepideh Sabagh. Unfortunately, Hiwa’s engagement with this show ended prematurely, and she announced her departure via social media after just a week of performances. Nevertheless, her talent and contributions to the arts community continue to resonate.
