Who Is Babak Zanjani’s Sister? Bahareh Zanjani and the Sourinette VIP Café in Shahrak-e Gharb
The name Bahareh Zanjani has recently attracted renewed attention following the opening of the luxury Sourinette VIP café and pastry shop in Shahrak-e Gharb, Tehran. The venue has been widely discussed on Iranian social media because of its reported connection to businessman Babak Zanjani, one of the most controversial Iranian businessmen of the past two decades.
But who exactly is Bahareh Zanjani? Is she really Babak Zanjani’s sister? Does she own the VIP café in western Tehran? And what is the connection between Bahareh Zanjani, Babak Zanjani and the Sourinette brand?
These questions have become increasingly popular as photographs and videos of the luxury café circulated online.
Who Is Bahareh Zanjani?
Bahareh Morteza Zanjani is identified by U.S. government records as the sister of Iranian businessman Babak Morteza Zanjani.
This is no longer simply a social-media claim. In July 2026, the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced sanctions against a network connected to Babak Zanjani and specifically identified Bahareh Morteza Zanjani as his sister. Treasury stated that she managed Dubai-based BZ Diamond FZCO, a company dealing in natural and laboratory-grown diamonds.
The U.S. government’s July 2026 designation provides an important piece of independently documented information about Bahareh Zanjani’s identity and her relationship with Babak Zanjani.
According to Treasury, BZ Diamond had connections to Zanjani’s digital-asset businesses, including Zedxion, and Bahareh Zanjani was designated in connection with her role in the company.
This information is particularly relevant because it demonstrates that Bahareh Zanjani is not merely a name appearing in Iranian social-media posts. She has been officially identified by a foreign government as a member of Babak Zanjani’s family and as a business figure associated with one of the companies in his broader international network.
