John Cena and Shay Shariatzadeh at the Coyote vs. ACME Premiere
John Cena was one of the principal stars attending the Los Angeles premiere of Coyote vs. ACME. He was joined by his wife, Shay Shariatzadeh, for the Hollywood event.
The couple’s appearance quickly attracted attention from entertainment photographers and fans. Images from the premiere captured Cena and Shariatzadeh together at the Westwood Village Theater on August 26.
The appearance also generated interest because Cena has become one of Hollywood’s most recognizable crossover performers. After establishing himself as one of professional wrestling’s biggest stars, Cena developed a substantial acting career in movies and television, increasingly taking on comedic and dramatic roles.
In Coyote vs. ACME, Cena takes on a very different kind of role from the larger-than-life characters that have defined parts of his filmography. He plays Buddy Crane, an attorney representing ACME Corporation.
That role places Cena on the opposite side of the courtroom from Will Forte’s character, Kevin Avery, a lawyer who becomes involved in Wile E. Coyote’s legal battle against the corporation.
The contrast is central to the movie’s premise: an ordinary human lawyer becomes the representative of one of animation’s most persistent victims, while Cena’s character represents the powerful corporation accused of causing years of cartoon catastrophes.
