Hamid Alidoosti Memorial Service: Football Legend, Career, Family and Legacy

Hamid Alidoosti and Youth Football

One of the important elements of Alidoosti’s later career was his work with younger players.

He coached the under-20 national team in 2004 and later worked with the under-17 national team between 2014 and 2016.

Youth football is particularly important because experienced former players can transfer technical knowledge, tactical understanding and professional experience to emerging generations.

Alidoosti’s work in this area therefore extended his influence beyond his own playing career.

His legacy is connected not only to the matches he played but also to the players and football structures he worked with after retirement.

Hamid Alidoosti’s Later Football Career

In the final years of his professional life, Alidoosti continued to remain involved in football.

This role demonstrated his continued commitment to football even decades after his playing career had ended.

Rather than disappearing from the sport after retirement, he continued to participate in football management and development.

His career therefore stretched across several generations of the sport.

The Family of Hamid Alidoosti

Hamid Alidoosti’s family became part of his public story, particularly because of his daughter Taraneh Alidoosti.

Taraneh is an internationally recognized actress whose career includes major award-winning films.

She appeared in Asghar Farhadi’s The Salesman, which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 2017, and also became widely known for her role in the television series Shahrzad.

The connection between football and cinema made the Alidoosti family particularly recognizable to the public.

Hamid’s son Pouyan also became part of the family’s history after his death in an accident during the Chaharshanbe Suri fire festival in March 2005 at the age of 16.
