Hamid Alidoosti Memorial Service: Football Legend, Career, Family and Legacy
Hamid Alidoosti and FSV Salmrohr
FSV Salmrohr occupies a special place in Alidoosti’s football history.
During the 1986–87 campaign, he played in Germany’s second division and scored 10 goals in 30 league appearances according to available records.
The move demonstrated that Iranian players could compete successfully in European professional football.
His experience in Germany also distinguished him from many of his contemporaries.
Rather than limiting his career to domestic competition, Alidoosti became part of an early generation of Iranian footballers with direct experience of the European professional game.
From Player to Coach
After ending his playing career, Hamid Alidoosti moved into coaching.
This transition allowed him to remain connected to football while taking on a different form of responsibility.
He worked with several clubs, including Paykan, Saipa, Homa and Tractor Sazi. He also coached youth national teams.
His managerial career included coaching the Iran under-20 national team and later the under-17 national team.
His coaching career reflected his broader contribution to football. Instead of leaving the sport after retirement as a player, he continued to work with new generations of footballers.
Hamid Alidoosti as a Football Coach
Coaching represented the second major phase of Alidoosti’s football career.
As a coach, he worked at different levels of the sport, from professional club teams to youth national teams.
His experience as a former national-team player and European-based professional gave him a perspective that could be transferred to younger players.
He managed Paykan during multiple periods, worked with Saipa and Homa and also took charge of Tractor Sazi.
He later became involved with youth development through the national under-20 and under-17 teams.
This combination of playing and coaching experience helped cement his reputation as a football veteran.
