In 2008, Amir Ebrahimi settled in Paris, France. She continued her passion for acting and filmmaking, taking on theater roles such as “Silent Taheregan’s Dream” in 2009 and “Voices of Women” in 2010.

Her small role in Abbas Kiarostami’s “Shirin” (2008), which premiered at Venice, was a significant milestone. Her work in theater and media expanded her presence across Europe.
Breakthrough in International Cinema
In 2016, she starred in the Swedish drama “Bride Price vs. Democracy” as Vida Irandoost, earning awards for Best Lead Actress at the Nice International Film Festival (2018). She also appeared in the German-Austrian film “Tehran Taboo” (2017), which premiered at Cannes.
Voice Acting and Documentaries
Between 2015-2018, she lent her voice to animated series and directed documentaries for BBC, such as “Kahani’s Cinema” and “Portrait of Women in Iranian Cinema.”

In 2022, Amir Ebrahimi starred as journalist Arezoo Rahimi in “Holy Spider”, directed by Ali Abbasi. The film, inspired by true events about Iran’s serial killer Saeed Hanaei, earned her the Best Actress Award at Cannes — making her the first Iranian actress to win this prestigious award.
