Why did Homa Darabi set herself on fire in protest against the mandatory hijab?
According to her relatives and close friends, the government agencies in the Republic increased the pressure on Homa Darabi day by day for her opposition to the mandatory hijab and protest against anti-women laws, until finally, on the second day of March 1372, she was killed in Tajrish Square. She removed the mandatory hijab and committed self-immolation in public in protest against the anti-woman laws and atmosphere of the Republic imposed on women.
