Two New Zealand tourists who were imprisoned in the country for months by the hostage-taking regime of the Islamic Republic

When they crossed the border in June, Thackwray and Richwhite were initially detained and questioned by immigration officers for bringing a sanctioned vehicle into the country – they were driving a Jeep Wrangler, which is covered by Iran’s retaliatory sanctions against the US. In a video captioned “Unexpected meeting request with chief of immigration”, they document getting into the back seat of a different car, and being taken to a meeting.
