Prior to his immigration to Germany, Najafi headed an underground music band, but he faced a ban from the government due to his controversial views on faith following his second music show. He later became the lead of the Inan music band in Germany and eventually joined the Tapesh 2012 music band. Tapesh 2012 gained recognition from Persian broadcasters and international media for their politically and socially charged songs and poems, composed by Najafi.
