Nowruz is also considered a public holiday and heavily celebrated in Afghanistan, Albania, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kurdistan, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Bayan-Ölgii, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and certain parts of Russia.
