Mohammad Bahrani: From Voice of Popular Puppet Characters to Renowned Actor and Puppeteer

Transition to Acting in Films and Television

Entry into Cinema

While primarily known for his puppetry, Bahrani also pursued acting in films and TV series. His first cinematic role was in 2006, with a small part in Bus Shab, directed by Kiyomars Pour-Ahmad. The following year, he starred alongside prominent actors in Bad Friend, which established his presence in the Iranian film industry.

Notable Film Roles

In 2011, Bahrani appeared as an interrogator in Kolah Ghermez and Bacha Nene. His role in Tabaab Hasas, directed by Kamal Tabrizi, as an interrogator alongside Reza Attaran and others, showcased his ability to handle serious roles, adding depth to his acting portfolio.

Expanding into Series and Drama

In recent years, Bahrani’s focus shifted toward television serials and home theater productions. In 2017, he gained recognition for his roles in popular series such as Golshifteh, Hyula, and Azazel. His performances in these series demonstrated his versatility as an actor capable of handling drama, comedy, and suspense.

Hosting and Judging

Bahrani has also served as a host and judge in various entertainment programs. Notably, he hosted Mafia Nights: Zodiac and served as a judge on Sedato, a popular Iranian talent competition.
