Mohammad Bahrani: From Voice of Popular Puppet Characters to Renowned Actor and Puppeteer
Rise to Fame: Voicing Beloved Puppet Characters
The Role of Kolah-Germazi and Khandavaneh
A significant turning point in Bahrani’s career was his collaboration with the Kolah-Germazi team, starting around 2011. The team was seeking a talented voice actor for new puppet characters, and Bahrani’s friendship with puppeteer Amir Soltan Ahmadi facilitated this connection. Bahrani’s voice brought to life two popular characters: Mr. Hamsadeh and Bebai.
These characters gained immense popularity among children and families, cementing Bahrani’s reputation as a leading voice actor in Iran’s puppet industry.
The Iconic Mr. Khan
One of Bahrani’s most famous puppet characters is Mr. Khan. This puppet was introduced in the Pearl Alley series, a live and puppet show produced for the Home Theater Network. The character of Mr. Khan, voiced by Bahrani, became a household favorite, thanks to its humorous and relatable personality.
In the series, actor Rambod Javan played Mr. Mohmater, a human character, opposite Mr. Khan. The success of Pearl Alley led to further collaborations, with Mr. Khan becoming a regular feature on various TV programs, including Hezar-e-Ik on Nasim Network.
Contributions to Children’s and Adult Puppet Shows
Bahrani’s voice acting extended across numerous projects, including educational programs, comedy sketches, and entertainment shows for audiences of all ages. His ability to adapt his voice to different characters and moods made him a versatile performer in Iran’s puppet industry.
