Born on May 17, 1970, in Tehran, Mojgan holds a diverse educational background, boasting a bachelor’s degree in painting, a master’s degree in graphic communication from the Islamic Azad University, and another bachelor’s degree in music from the University of the Arts.
Married to Mohammad Ali Rafiei, former concert director for her father, Mohammad-Reza Shajarian, and later her brother, Homayoun Shajarian, Mojgan is a mother to three children: Mehr Rafiei and twin sons Sam and Sepehr.
Despite her multifaceted talents, Mojgan Shajarian has faced challenges in expressing herself through music. Her independent album, “Arghavan,” released in April 2019, features compositions by Sorena Sefati, incorporating poems from renowned poets like Hushang Ebtehaj, Mohammad-Reza Shafiei Kadkani, and Hafez.
