Madison Marsh, Groundbreaking US Air Force Officer, Crowned Miss America 2024

In a historic victory, U.S. Air Force officer Madison Marsh secured the title of Miss America 2024, becoming the first active-duty servicemember to achieve this honor. The event, held in Orlando, featured fifty-one contestants representing all 50 U.S. states, including the District of Columbia.

The news of Marsh’s win was enthusiastically shared by the U.S. Air Force on X, their platform of choice. A post on X, previously known as Twitter, congratulated the 22-year-old second lieutenant, hailing her as “our very own” and highlighting her groundbreaking achievement.

Marsh, currently pursuing a master’s degree in public policy at the Harvard Kennedy School, shared her sentiments after being crowned. In an interview posted on Miss America’s Instagram story, she delivered an empowering message, stating, “You can achieve anything. The sky is not the limit, and the only person that’s stopping you is you.” Marsh emphasized that if she, coming from a small town and not having a pageant background, could step into the pageant world, so could anyone else.
