Unlocking Islamic Republic Air Force Fighter Jets: 7 Aircraft Analyzed

Mirage F1:

There are about nine Mirage F1 planes originating from France but still serving with Iranian forces despite their vintage status. These planes fought during the Iraq-Iran War and constitute part of the present IRISL capabilities too.

This old French-made Mirage f1 model is among the airplanes found in IRI’s fleet. Nine are still flying and played big roles during the Iraq-Iran war; hence, these Mirage F1 are considered important instruments within the Islamic Republic Air Force, even though not all have modern technology like the latest ones seen today with other fighters in Iran’s inventory.
