Immigration to America

In 1994, Giti made the bold decision to move to the United States to further her education and career. Settling in California, she continued her studies and explored opportunities within the arts community.

Education in Animation
After completing her bachelor’s and master’s degrees, Khameneh took an intensive animation production course at UCLA, which broadened her understanding of the industry and enhanced her skill set.

Teaching and Community Involvement
During her time in America, Giti also became involved in community service, teaching theater and Persian language to bilingual Iranian-American children. Her work in non-profit organizations reflected her commitment to nurturing the next generation of Iranian artists.

Return to Iran and Recent Endeavors

After nearly 16 years abroad, Giti Khameneh returned to Iran in 2010. She quickly resumed her role as a beloved host, engaging with audiences through various programs such as “Children of Yesterday,” which explored the childhood memories of Iranians from the 1960s.

Engaging Documentaries
Khameneh also participated in the documentary series “Heritage of Iran,” where she narrated the rich history and culture of northwest Iran, bringing these stories to life for the Sahar Network audience.

Continued Work in Children’s Programming
In 2016, after a long hiatus, Giti returned to children’s programming on the Pouya Network, delighting a new generation of children. Her experience and insights made her a valuable asset to the network, as she continued to shape the landscape of children’s television in Iran.
