Funeral Ceremony of the Late Dr. Zahra Shojaei
Behzad Nabavi could not be silenced by the obstacles he faced. He carried on with his campaign against injustice, organizing demonstrations and soliciting support. In every disappointment, he suffered an even stronger will as a memory of Dr. Zahra Shojaei and numerous others who had done much for a better Iran.
Months went by, and Nabavi’s efforts began to bear fruit. Reform was imminent, however gradual it might have been. New policies were formulated, institutions were restructured, and attitudes changed. The progress achieved thus far was evidence of how much Dr. Shojaei meant to this country.
Nabavi allowed himself to have the least glimmer of hope that the long journey had ended. Even if slowly, it was possible to start seeing a fairer, equal, and inclusive Iran due in large part to people like him who worked tirelessly for freedom and human rights and pioneers like Dr. Zahra Shojai.
A feeling of optimism suddenly took over him as Nabavi looked towards the horizon. Though he knew that there would be many more miles ahead, which would surely be very demanding, Behzad Nabavi believed that anything was possible once one made up one’s mind. Therefore, Behzad continued fighting for change, promising never to forget about the heritage of Dr.Zahara Shojaii, among the countless others whose dreams led us to a brighter tomorrow.
