Years Abroad: A Hub of Artistic Exploration

Farhad Ayesh’s life took a transformative turn when he moved abroad in the late 1970s. His journeys took him to cities such as San Francisco, Washington, D.C., Boston, and Berlin. Over the span of 27 years, Ayesh fully immersed himself in the vibrant world of theater, directing and acting in more than 30 plays in both Persian and English. This period allowed him to explore various cultural influences, enhancing his artistic repertoire and understanding of diverse theatrical expressions.

Ayesh’s experiences abroad were crucial in shaping him into the multifaceted artist he is today. Although he flourished in an international environment, the longing for his homeland grew stronger over time, prompting his return to Iran in 1997. This marked a pivotal moment in his life, as Ayesh embarked on a new chapter of creative expression and engagement with Iranian culture.

The Artistic Career After Returning to Iran

Upon returning to Iran, Farhad Ayesh actively sought opportunities within the vibrant performing arts scene. He began his theater career in the winter of 1998 with the groundbreaking group Shab Roui Sangfaresh. Soon after, he made his television debut in the beloved series Salam Kochulo. This marked the beginning of a prolific journey in Iranian cinema and television.

Ayesh’s cinematic breakthrough happened earlier, in 1990, when he starred in Dariush Farhang’s film Shabhai Tehran. However, it was his role as “Manouchehr” in the widely acclaimed series Qatar Abdi that brought him widespread recognition. Ayesh further solidified his status as a talented actor through various television series, including Bankiha in 2003, showcasing his ability to engage audiences through diverse roles. Notably, he also ventured into directing, exhibiting his versatility in the series Bajnaqha.
