Farhad Aslani: From Cinema Legend to Contemporary Actor and Filmmaker
Entry into Iranian Cinema and Television
Early Career in Radio and Theater
In 1992, Farhad Aslani gained initial experience through radio plays, which helped him develop his vocal and expressive skills. The same year marked his debut on television when he was introduced to director Davoud Mirbagheri through actor Mohammad Reza Sharifinia, leading to his first screen appearance in the acclaimed series Imam Ali (AS).
Breakthrough in Television: Neighbors and Beyond
Although his role in Imam Ali (AS) was significant, his first widely broadcast TV work was the series Neighbors (1993), directed by Hassan Fathi. This role established Aslani as a promising talent in Iranian television.
Transition to Cinema
In 1994, Aslani debuted in Iranian cinema with the film Roosari Abi, directed by Rakhshan Bani Etemad. He also played a brief role in Dariush Mehrjui’s Sara. These early film appearances laid the foundation for his future as an acclaimed film actor.
