Zar Amir Ebrahimi: A Rising Star on the Global Stage

Zar Amir Ebrahimi, born Zahra Amir Ebrahimi in Tehran, Iran, on July 9, 1981, has emerged as a prominent Iranian-French actress, producer, and director. Her international acclaim soared after her remarkable portrayal of journalist Arezoo Rahimi in the crime thriller Holy Spider (2022), earning her the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actress and the Robert Award for Best Actress.

Amir Ebrahimi, fluent in Persian, English, and French, began her career at a young age, directing her first short film, “Khat,” at the age of eighteen. She made her feature film debut in 2001 with “Waiting” and has since been involved in various theatrical projects, showcasing her diverse talents.

Despite facing a temporary setback in 2006 due to a leaked homemade sex tape, Amir Ebrahimi made a triumphant return with the hit series “Nargess” in 2006 and the critically acclaimed film “Journey to Hidalou” in the same year. The series won the Hafez Award for Best Television Series, showcasing Amir Ebrahimi’s enduring popularity.

In 2008, faced with the threat of imprisonment, Amir Ebrahimi emigrated to Paris, France, where she rekindled her acting career. She has been involved in numerous plays, documentaries, and short films, displaying her versatility as an artist.
