It’s very important to meet the expectations of your fans. If you promise the release of a new video or song on a certain date, then you need to deliver on that promise. You may think that your fans will understand if a piece of music is not ready and you just want it to be perfect, but for every fan that “gets it,” there will be two more who will take their loyalty elsewhere. Now you may think that the best way to deal with this issue is to stop promising things to your fans. That doesn’t work because your fans expect clear and constant communication from you. Instead, you need to underpromise and overdeliver. For example, if you announced new music coming in the next couple of days, you should release multiple songs instead of just one. That way, your fans will get more than they expected and will know that they can trust you.
