Ali Khomeini, criticizing the approach of government officials, called “the solution” the “return” of sovereignty to the people

The revolution does not rely on a person, and individuals of the people participate in it; the secret of the longevity of the system is the fact that the people consider the revolution their own. According to the Jamaran website, Ali Khomeini, during a speech in Najaf on Sunday, January 25, in the presence of officials of the consulate and a number of parliamentarians, emphasized: “If we somehow manage to put all the government in the hands of the people, surely I believe that they will implement it better than all of us.” Criticizing the government officials, he advised them to return to the people in order to “protect the people’s religion” and said: “The fact that the head of the Islamic Republic comes with an arrow and leaves with a Benz was not one of the promises of the revolution.” Ali Khomeini stated that “protest should exist” and said “if there was no protest and silence was deadly, we should have been afraid.”The grandson of Ruhollah Khomeini criticized the Republic in Najaf, while in early December, the “Wall Street Journal,”  citing informed sources, reported that the authorities had reached out to the families of Ruhollah Khomeini and Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani to silence the protesters.Earlier, Hassan Khomeini, Ali’s elder brother, also issued a statement asking the authorities of the Islamic Republic to start a dialogue with different sections of the people.The rivalry between the Khomeini and Khamenei families started at the same time as Ahmad Khomeini’s death, continues to this day, and reached its highest level during the confrontation with the protesters.
