Who were the executioners of Majidreza Rahnavard in Mashhad?
Majidreza Rahnavard (died 12 December 2022) was a man notable for being the second person executed by Iran directly for his involvement in the Mahsa Amini protests, as well as the first to have his execution carried out in public. Rahnavard’s execution occurred three days after the first protest-related execution, that of Mohsen Shekari. Rahnavard was sentenced to death for moharebeh (“waging war against God”), stemming from accusations that he fatally stabbed two Basij militia volunteers less than a month before his execution.
