“We Will Kill Trump”: Anti-American Messages Appear Across Tehran
One of the most striking images emerging from Tehran on September 9 showed a motorcyclist passing beneath a large banner written in both English and Persian.
The message read:
“We will kill Trump.”
The banner represents the extremely hostile political atmosphere surrounding the conflict and the deep anger directed toward U.S. President Donald Trump by elements of Iran’s political establishment and supporters of the Islamic Republic.
The message is particularly significant because it was written in English as well as Persian, making it clear that the intended audience extends beyond Iranian residents.
The banner functions as political messaging directed toward the United States and, specifically, toward the American president.
Another image from Tehran showed a billboard depicting soldiers carrying coffins bearing the U.S. flag onto a military aircraft. The Persian text accompanying the image translated as:
“Prepare your coffins.”
The imagery is deliberately confrontational.
Such messages have become part of the visual landscape of the Iran-US conflict. Public banners, posters and billboards are being used to communicate defiance, threaten retaliation symbolically and reinforce the narrative that Iran will resist American military pressure.
It is important, however, to distinguish political propaganda and public slogans from verified evidence of an operational plan against an individual.
The appearance of a banner saying “We will kill Trump” does not itself establish that Iran has issued a formal operational order to assassinate the U.S. president.
Instead, it demonstrates the extraordinary level of political hostility produced by the war.
