First Major Cinema Appearance: Black Cat (2020)

One of the most significant milestones in Setayesh Rajai-Nia’s early career came with her role in the feature film Black Cat (Gorbeh Siah), directed by Karim Amini and produced by acclaimed Iranian actor Bahram Radan.

The film marked Rajai-Nia’s first substantial experience in Iranian cinema, allowing her to transition from television to the big screen.

For many emerging actors, entering cinema represents an important career step because feature films often receive greater media attention, film festival exposure, and critical reviews than television productions.

Although Rajai-Nia’s role was not the lead, Black Cat introduced her to a much broader audience and demonstrated that she could perform alongside some of Iran’s most recognizable actors.
