Ruhollah Razavi: The Kashmiri-Born Media Host Behind Time and the British Embassy Controversy

The British Embassy Protest in Tehran

The demonstrations took place during a period of intense international tension.

At the time, the United States and the United Kingdom were preparing for military action against Iraq under the government of Saddam Hussein.

Many Iranian political groups strongly opposed the planned invasion and organized protests against Western governments.

Among these groups were conservative student organizations, including members of the Student Basij.

According to Razavi’s own statements in the Dehbashi interview, he participated in gatherings near the British Embassy as part of opposition to British involvement in the Iraq War.

The protests later became controversial because some participants moved beyond peaceful demonstrations.
