Natalie Harp and Trump’s Secret Flight From Turkey

The most consequential recent development involving Harp came in July 2026.

Trump was attending the NATO summit in Turkey when U.S. officials reportedly received intelligence concerning a potential threat to the aircraft carrying the president.

According to CBS News, Trump was secretly moved away from the publicly identified Air Force One aircraft and transferred to another aircraft.

The operation reportedly involved an airport catering truck.

Trump was then flown on a smaller military aircraft toward the United Kingdom.

According to CBS, Natalie Harp, Walt Nauta and Dan Scavino accompanied Trump, as did Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

Meanwhile, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent remained on the aircraft that had publicly been identified as Air Force One.

Rubio and Bessent reportedly knew that Trump was not actually aboard that aircraft.

The incident was initially kept secret.

It became public only after reporting by CBS News, The Washington Post and other outlets.

The significance for Harp was obvious.

At a moment when the president’s movements were being treated as a national-security secret, she was among the small group permitted to accompany him.

That does not prove that she has greater formal authority than cabinet officials.

It does, however, demonstrate the extraordinary degree of personal proximity she has achieved.
