Mojtaba Shakouri: From Childhood Challenges to Fame in “Ketab Baaz” and Beyond
Educational Journey and Academic Life
Struggles in School
Mojtaba was not a good student during his early years, with a low GPA and a reputation for misbehavior. His academic journey was turbulent, but this changed after a pivotal moment when he decided to improve himself to make his parents proud.
Turning Point: Motivation to Succeed
Seeing his father’s tears due to his unruly behavior inspired Mojtaba to change. During his university entrance exams, he studied intensely, sometimes for up to 17 hours a day. This dedication paid off when he was accepted into Sharif University of Technology—one of Iran’s most prestigious technical universities—in the mechanical engineering department, with a rank of 48.
However, Mojtaba admits that he lied about his exam rank, claiming a quota-based rank, which he later recognized as an act of dishonesty. He openly apologized for this to his audience, emphasizing the importance of honesty and integrity.
University Life and Academic Challenges
Despite his acceptance into Sharif University, Mojtaba’s academic experience was unconventional. His passion for philosophy and intellectual pursuits led him to feel like “Alice in Wonderland” in the mechanical engineering field. It took him six years to graduate with a GPA of 12, reflecting his struggles to find his true passion.
