Mojgan Rahmani: Trailblazing Darts Champion and the Queen of Darts

The Spark: Discovering Darts

Summer Trips and Sports Competitions

Every summer, the Rahmani family traveled to the northern regions of Iran, where various sports competitions and recreational activities were held. During these trips, Mojgan participated in multiple sports such as ping-pong, chess, tug-of-war, and darts. Her natural talent and competitive spirit shone through, especially in darts, where she won her first local tournament.

The First Dartboard and Dream Formation

Winning a darts category in one of those competitions earned her a dartboard as a prize. Mojgan installed it at home, transforming her living room into a mini-dart court. She wrote “World Champion” on the wall next to the board, symbolizing her aspiration. The game’s appeal was that it required precision and focus but had no age limit—an inspiring factor for her to pursue excellence in darts over the years.

Early Training and Dedication

Initially, Mojgan trained informally, practicing her throws and techniques. Her dedication grew stronger, and she sought professional coaching. Her family’s support was crucial, despite cultural stereotypes regarding women’s participation in sports like darts.
