From Mechanic to Actor

Before becoming an actor, Mahmoud Basiri worked as a mechanic. During this period, he met individuals connected with the Iranian film industry. Through one of these acquaintances, he was introduced to a film production team looking for a young performer with a distinctive appearance.

This chance meeting opened the door to cinema.

Although his earliest appearances were small and sometimes uncredited, they provided valuable experience in understanding how film productions operated. Working on sets allowed him to observe established actors, directors, cinematographers, and technicians, helping him gradually develop confidence in front of the camera.

Unlike many newcomers who immediately pursued major roles, Basiri patiently accepted minor parts while learning every aspect of filmmaking.
