Iraj Khajeh Amiri Dies at 94: Legendary Singer and “Champion of Singing” Passes Away
Iraj and Mohammad Ali Fardin
Perhaps the most famous connection in Iraj’s entire career was his artistic relationship with Mohammad Ali Fardin.
Fardin was one of the most popular stars of Iranian cinema before the 1979 Revolution.
Known for his heroic screen persona, charisma, athletic appearance, and enormous popularity, Fardin became one of the defining actors of commercial Iranian cinema.
But his screen performances were often accompanied by Iraj’s singing voice.
This created a distinctive artistic partnership.
Fardin supplied the image.
Iraj supplied the voice.
The combination became so effective that audiences often experienced them as a single character.
