Burial at Behesht Zahra Artists’ Section

Following the funeral, Akbar Abdi was laid to rest in the Artists’ Section of Behesht Zahra Cemetery in Tehran.

This section of the cemetery is reserved for many of Iran’s most influential cultural figures, including celebrated actors, filmmakers, writers, musicians, and poets whose contributions have shaped the country’s artistic heritage.

For many mourners, the burial symbolized Abdi’s permanent place among the legends of Iranian cinema.

Visitors placed flowers at his grave while colleagues spoke about his generosity, humility, professionalism, and extraordinary ability to make audiences laugh while simultaneously delivering emotionally powerful dramatic performances.
