US–Israel Strikes on Iran Trigger Middle East War and Refugee Crisis at Armenia Border

Introduction

The Middle East entered a dangerous new phase of geopolitical instability after the United States and Israel launched a sweeping military campaign against Iran, targeting strategic missile bases, naval installations, and military infrastructure. The attacks, which began in early March 2026, quickly triggered retaliatory responses from Iran and escalated into what analysts now describe as one of the most serious regional conflicts in decades.

As airstrikes and missile attacks spread across the region, thousands of civilians began fleeing their homes. One of the most visible humanitarian consequences of the conflict has been the emerging refugee crisis along the Iran–Armenia border, where families are crossing into Armenia seeking safety from escalating military operations.

Photographs captured by photojournalist Karen Minasyan show emotional scenes of Iranian civilians carrying luggage, standing beside suitcases, and reacting with relief and exhaustion after crossing into Armenia. These images highlight the human cost of the expanding conflict.

The rapidly unfolding situation has raised fears that the Iran-Israel-US confrontation could evolve into a full-scale Middle East war, potentially involving multiple countries and threatening global stability.
