About Mahnaz Afshar
Born on June 11, 1977, in Tehran, Mahnaz Afshar is a renowned Iranian actress with a remarkable career spanning over two decades. With roots in Tabrizi Turkish heritage, she began her artistic journey after completing her high school diploma in experimental sciences and studying editing for four years. Despite initial familial opposition due to religious considerations, Mahnaz trained under the esteemed Hamid Samandarian to hone her acting skills.
Her debut in television came with the popular series Gomshodeh in 1998, which marked the beginning of her successful career. She quickly transitioned to cinema, making her film debut with Doostan in 1999. Mahnaz’s talent was recognized early on, culminating in her winning the prestigious Crystal Simorgh for Best Supporting Actress at the Fajr Film Festival in 2010 for her role in Saadat Abad. She has also been nominated for the Crystal Simorgh for Best Actress for her performances in Darkoob (2017) and Ghasam (2018).
