Early Life and Musical Beginnings
Siavash Ghomayshi’s journey into the world of music began at an early age. Born into a family that appreciated music, he was exposed to various musical influences during his childhood. His father, a music enthusiast, encouraged young Siavash to pursue his passion. By the age of 12, Siavash was already composing music, showcasing his innate talent.
In his teenage years, Ghomayshi moved to London to further his education. There, he attended the Royal Society of Arts, where he majored in pop music and earned a master’s degree in classical jazz. This period was crucial in shaping his musical style, as he was exposed to a diverse range of musical genres and styles.
During his time in London, Siavash collaborated with several bands, including the Avengers and the Insects, where he served as the lead guitarist and lead singer. These experiences enriched his musical repertoire and prepared him for his future career as a composer and performer.
Return to Iran and Rise to Fame
After completing his studies, Siavash Ghomayshi returned to Iran at the age of 25. He initially focused on composing music for other artists, quickly gaining recognition for his exceptional talent. His first song, “Ghayeghran” (Boatman), was written for Zia when Siavash was just 13 years old. This early success marked the beginning of a prolific career in the Iranian music industry.
Throughout the 1970s, Ghomayshi composed numerous hits for well-known Persian artists, solidifying his reputation as a gifted composer. His ability to blend traditional Persian music with contemporary styles resonated with audiences and set him apart from his peers.
