Unveiling the Enigma: The Treasure of Gheytarieh

A historical puzzle lies in Tehran’s heart—the treasure trove of Qaitariya hills. It was during Tehran’s urban development in the 1940s that this interesting archaeological site opened a door to the past of this busy city.
Through excavations at Qaitariya Hills, artifacts from over five thousand years of history have been discovered.

These discoveries included more than three hundred and fifty ancient graves that produced an astonishing variety of artifacts, including swords, shields, jewelry, and pottery pieces totaling thousands. These artifacts are now preserved for prosperity by the Museum of Ancient Iran and have unraveled Iran’s cultural heritage.

Historians marvel at the fact that so many things were found in this old necropolis, a sign showing how lively these hills were sometimes back. Long after time has gone by and modernity has set in, parts of this old graveyard remain standing as a sharp reminder about the past life that reigned in Tehran.
