Polygamous Wedding Extravaganza: Ugandan Groom Marries Seven Wives
The Extravagant Wedding
Habib’s wedding was nothing short of a spectacle. Each bride was wed separately in traditional ceremonies at their respective homes before being escorted to a grand reception at Habib’s residence. The brides, arriving in style in their own vehicles complete with personalized number plates, were part of a stunning procession featuring a fleet of 40 limousines and 30 motorcycles.
The reception itself was a glitzy affair, complete with a concert that enthralled the guests. Attendees marveled at the extravagance of the event, with some expressing disbelief that such a wedding could be real. Habib took the opportunity to praise his wives during the reception, emphasizing that there was no jealousy among them and that he had introduced and wed them separately to create one big, harmonious family. He also hinted at the possibility of more weddings in the future, stating, “I am still a young man, and in the near future, God willing, I cannot say this is the end of it.”
A Village Put on the Map
Habib’s wedding has not only captured international attention but has also made his remote village famous. Emmanuel Owere, the village chairman, expressed his surprise at the turn of events, saying, “This man with rare qualities settled in this village about four years ago. We had no idea when he moved here that he would bring us fame. Our village’s name is everywhere.”
Habib Nsikonnene’s polygamous wedding has not only broken records but also sparked discussions about the cultural significance of polygamy in Uganda. It serves as a testament to the diverse and rich traditions that continue to shape the country’s social landscape. Whether or not Habib reaches his goal of 100 children, his unique wedding celebration has undoubtedly etched his name in the annals of Ugandan history.
