The controversy that the “imam” of cardboard created

Sadegh Tabatabai (brother of Seyyed Ahmad Khomeini’s wife) published a post one day after the publication of the photos of that ceremony, calling the creation of the imam “tasteless and perverse.” Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani (then head of the Expediency Recognition Council) also referred to this work as a “low-content and ridiculous program on the anniversary of the victory of the revolution” and considered the use of cardboard replicas as “a means of abuse by the enemies of the revolution.” A number of representatives of the Council reacted to this incident in separate comments. One of them was Mohammadreza Tabesh, the representative of the Ardakan constituency, who referred to this event as “promoting immunization.”
