Shohreh Aghdashloo, Designer Break Down Dress Honoring Women Fighting for Freedom at the Oscars 2023

Shohreh Aghdashloo’s dress was made of black and white silk and consisted of a long, straight, sleeveless white dress combined with a black silk taffeta drape that covered her shoulders and a black silk overskirt. When the actress unfolded this overskirt, you could see the message embroidered on it: ‘Women, Life, Freedom’ (“Women, life, freedom”), as well as the names of the three women murdered in September 2022.
