Early Life and Education

Born in Tehran, Iran, Roya Nonahali’s family hails from Mazandaran province, specifically from the village of Taker in Noor County. She pursued her passion for arts early on, completing her high school education at the French-language Jeanne d’Arc School in Tehran. Later, she studied painting at the University of Tehran’s Faculty of Fine Arts, earning a bachelor’s degree. Her background in visual arts and her multilingual skills in Persian, English, and French enriched her understanding of dramatic texts and expanded her artistic horizons.

Entry into Acting and Rise to Fame

Roya Nonahali’s journey into the world of acting began in the 1980s. She started with theater, showcasing her talent on stage with prominent productions such as “Tartuffe” (which she also directed) and other notable plays.
